With its excellent service and the kitchen's attention to detail, it's easy to see why this Italian staple has outlived so many competitors. Veal fares well here, as does the steak. which ranges in size from a 5 oz. filet mignon ($17) to a 14 oz. New York strip. You will want the steak prepared Sicilian style. The coating of bread crumbs is light, as is the touch of garlic. Among the seafood offerings are shrimp, king crab legs and scamponi. Scamponi are ultra-jumbo shrimp the size of slipper lobster tails. The more expensive scamponi diablo ($37) adds a few clams and green-lipped mussels. Lunches, served Tuesday through Friday, offer a smaller menu and lower prices. There are also sandwiches, including a huge meatball ($6.95) and an impressive Italian sausage ($8.95).
