Home Dining Places Mexican Pepe's Rockin' Taco Shack

A recent addition to the East Side is Pepe's Rockn' Taco Shack, located in the former Sol Fire and La Casita. Pepe's has brightened up the interior and added a larger outdoor terrace for dining. The menu offers Mexican fare such as fajitas and shrimp entrees, as well as tacos and burritos. The tacos are surprisingly good. Diners can choose from vegetarian, chicken, ground beef and steak. Or try the spicy pig, a variant of Mexican tacos al pastor. This is spicier than the norm, with a peppery burst of flavor. I suggest ordering these "Pepe-style" with avocado, chopped onion and cilantro. The ones with corn tortillas will be smaller than usual-exactly how they are served in Mexico City.

We didn't make it to food... I had a GC purchased from the radio...$25 for $50. Luckily we checked up front. The manager told us it was expired, even though the printed date was clearly after the date we were there. He then told us it wasn't his problem (cuz I am sure they got no money from that transaction from the radio). He also told us 'if we wanted to eat for free, go somewhere else' I take that as good advice to eat somewhere else. The place was empty... I can see why. GREAT VALUE OF CUSTOMERS! Skip it and go to one of the tried and true good places. Why bother with them?
