If people can order Hawaiian pizza, what would be wrong with a Mexican version or even a pizza burek? Burek, of course, is the circular dish of filled phyllo dough found at all local Serbian restaurants, typically filled with spinach and feta cheese. To find the Mexican and burek versions you will have to travel to Fritz's, an unassuming tavern at the corner of 20th and Oklahoma. You can eat at the bar or order burek to go. Ask for the simple cooking directions and your burek will be perfectly cooked. Fritz's also has other items on the menu. There is a gigantic burger of beef and veal. Then there are cevapcici, grilled
Serbian sausages. The smaller serving of five should be plenty, as it is served with bread, a heap of fries and a slab of feta cheese. For dessert, cheesecake is another house specialty. Don't forget to order a pitcher of beer too!
