The signature sport of Ireland, hurling has a large following in the Milwaukee area. Now entering its fourteenth season, the Milwaukee Hurling Club has the largest membership in North America, with more than 280 adults and youngsters taking part. The public can take in the thrills, skills, music, fun, and camaraderie of the MHC's Opening Day on Sunday, May 17 at Kletsch Park at Mill and N. Green Bay Roads in Glendale. Youth games start at 9:45 AM, and the first adult match will begin at 11:00 AM. The entire MHC will gather at noon for the season's opening ceremonies which will feature County Supervisor Theodore Lipscomb throwing out the "first pitch" and all fifteen MHC teams "piped" onto the field in a colorful display of club pride.
