Broadminded, Milwaukee's femme fatale of sketch comedy, announces its latest original show: Blue Plate Special. The show will run at the Alchemist Theatre, 2569 S Kinnickinnic in Bay View with shows on: Fri, Sat February 27-28 @ 8pm Fri, Sat March 6-7 @ 8pm Sun March 8 @ 5pm Fri, Sat March 13-14 @ 8pm Blue Plate Special includes sketches about social networking sites, big pharma, buddy cops, being single and not being single, and, of course, diners. The show is appropriate for ages 16 and up. Tickets are available for $8 at www.alchemisttheatre.com. The March 7th performance is part of a benefit for the Sojourner Truth House; broadminded will donate $1 for every ticket sold plus 100% of t-shirt sales. There will also be an art auction and a matinee performance of the Old Time Radio Show. Since the birth of broadminded in 2006, members Stacy Babl, Anne Graff LaDisa, Melissa Kingston and Megan McGee have written and performed over 60 original sketches. Their shows consist of a mixture of live sketches and video performances that is inspired by everyday life. In the last year, they debuted Rewind, Now in 3-D, and Cookie, and appeared in both the Milwaukee and Chicago Sketch Festivals. Some day, they plan to move to California and pan for gold.
