Taylor-ing the Laws for the Gangs

In Section: General Posted By: MrRight

Lena Taylor certainly is one of hardest working people in politics. If you are a member of a gang, you should have an extra special appreciation for her hard work.

Once again, race is trumping common sense. Taylor has single-handedly blocked Wisconsin State Senate Bill AB411 (click for a one-page pdf of the bill) which would have made it a felony to receive a stolen gun if the recipient knew it was stolen. Currently, it is a misdemeanor.

What makes this so incredibly hypocritical is that Taylor is a Democrat, and would certainly support any law that restricted the LEGAL sale of handguns. This bill passed by voice vote on January 28th. For the layperson, voice vote means that there was such widespread support for this bill that a tally of votes was not necessary. It is also a tragedy that one senator can hold back such a no-brainer bill.

Taylor also deserves kudos from the gangs for opposing a bill that would protect homeowners who use deadly force on intruders from lawsuits, and for supporting a bill that would block 17-year-old criminals from being tried as adults.

There have been rumors that Taylor has gang members working on her campaign and that she has taken contributions from gangs. I think that if anyone had any concrete evidence of either item, she'd be under fire, even from the Milwaukee Journal. But there's no doubt that she's trying to enable gangs to use children in their criminal enterprises and keep the penalty low for accepting a stolen handgun.

The bottom line is that Taylor doesn't care about the fact that black people will be shot with these stolen handguns. She cares more about the black people who will be incarcerated for possessing these stolen handguns. The thug-as-victim culture (see Michael McGees Sr. and Jr.) ignores the real victims- the nice people in the inner city who want jobs, commerce, and peace to return to their community. Why is Taylor defending the criminals?

Thanks to Mark Belling for breaking this story.
