Racing to the polls?

With the Wisconsin primary less than a week away, many are predicting the turnout to be the highest since 1988. In 2004 the turnout for the primary was 24%, this year it is predicted to be around 35% of the voting age population (according to Wisn.com).

Wisconsin's primary is open, heated, and sure to draw much attention. I'm hoping for a big turnout, but I remember the turnout for the actual 2004 election being a disappointment.

What's your guess for voter turnout in Milwaukee?

I'm not sure that any of the front runners have any competition this year.

I believe that the supposed importance of Wisconsin's primary paired with the unique selection of candidates could push the turnout to around 40% of qualified voters. The percentage should perhaps be even higher, but the college-aged voters, who are often the most politically outspoken, do not actually show up to practice what they've been preaching on voting day.
