Growing up in the Milwaukee area, and living on the eastside of Milwaukee for the past four years I've come to realize I've been taking this city for granted a bit. Growing up in a suburb right outside of Milwaukee I remember how excited I would be when my parents would take me to Buck's games, resturants downtown and the Milwaukee Public Museum. There always seemed to be so much going on, I loved going downtown night.
Now that I can legally use my own I.D. I'm more concered with finding where I'll be spending my weekends. I joke around that La Fuentes is my second home and Water Street seems to be a weekend staple. I find myself on the same streets I was walking along as a young kid, still excited by all that is going on, the tall buildings that surround me and the atmosphere in general. I think Milwaukee has a lot to offer for anyone, any age.
AARP magazine agrees they named Milwaukee one of the 5 great places to live. To read more on this click here.
What do you like to do in the city?
Do you have any memories of Milwaukee growing up? Let me know.
Stay warm,
Stephanie
