Founded
in 1967, Landmarks Gallery is one of Milwaukee’s oldest art galleries and the
area’s longest-running women-run gallery. It’s also unique for its full range
of services, including art appraisal, custom framing and restoration of
photographs and works on canvas and paper, including documents as well as
prints. Landmarks has mounted an eclectic array of exhibitions over the years,
including Milwaukee outside artist Eugene von Bruenchenhein, Russian exile
designer Erte and Anglo-American maritime artist John Stobart as well as shows
dedicated to movie posters and the art of World War II. Recently, Landmarks has
focused on 20th century Wisconsin and Midwest regionalists,
including Francesco Spicuzza, Robert von Neumann, Owen Gromme and Paul
Hammersmith.
