When asked to describe the kind of artwork he’s displayed his gallery for almost four decades, William De Lind describes it as “artwork I personally like.” His personal tastes are eclectic to say the least, including impressionist portraits by Childe Hassam, Bronze and Lucite sculptures by Frederick Hart, contemporary landscapes by Terry Firkins or playful totemic works by Roland Polska. De Lind has also always held a soft spot for Dennis Pearson’s Beasties, admitting the colorful bovine forms “always make me smile.” The gallery recently moved from its former location on the corner of Mason and Milwaukee to a much coveted spot on the first floor of George Watt’s and Sons, nestled comfortably in the south east corner of the 1920s Italianate structure, within earshot of the delicate chink of fine china and hand-cut crystal.
