Milwaukee Choral Artists

By John Schneider

Feb. 18
Southern Skies and Western Winds

Unitarian Universalist Church West
13001 W. North Ave., Brookfield

This 20-voice women's vocal ensemble is Wisconsin's premier professional chorus and one of only a handful of professional women's ensembles in the country. This concert includes Haitian, African, Latin American, Hawaiian, Spanish, British and German songs. Of special interest is Cantos Alegres (Joyful Songs) by Milwaukee native Paul Basler. His settings of poems in Spanish by California poet Gabriel Navar was commissioned by the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, Fla., where Basler currently resides.
