Café Perrin: A Delight Any Time of Day

Short Orders

By Jeff Beutner

Café Perrin (5901 W. Vliet St.), a new addition to Milwaukee's Washington Heights neighborhood, is a pleasant spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Morning diners will find fresh baked goods and the usual egg fare like quiche and omelets. The lunch menu focuses on sandwiches, including a turkey bacon Swiss melt and a Buffalo chicken wrap, and salads such as a Caesar and berry walnut. The dinner menu adds entrees like lasagna al fresco, barbecue ribs and lobster mac & cheese. With this type of variety on the menu, Perrin is a café to enjoy at all times of the day.

This restaurant is extremely overrated. The food is meh and honestly the only thing that is appealing is the appearance of the items. Bakery is dry and crusty and they are overpriced for what they offer. There is also a 5.00 split plate charge even though you get nothing additional. Save the trip and go to Baker's Square if you like dessert.

I couldn't agree more with Bernice Apex's post! Cafe Perrin reminds me of a beautiful date you wouldn't want to bring home to meet your parents. Superficially pretty but shallow with no substance... C'Mon Cafe Perrin management, Can't you do better????

This place has really good brunch. My friend and I split the chorizo avocado omlette and the pesto mozzerella omlette. They didn't charge us to do that. It was good with really great coffee. Our omlettes came with roasted potatoes and some good fresh bread. Not sure why the negative comments. I also am glad for the neighborhood that they have a decent restaurant finally. It was packed when I went there, and Ill be going back today.
