Bob Donovan

Milwaukee Alderperson

Bob Donovan has long been the darling of the right-wing radio crowd, which helped him get re-elected to his relatively conservative Milwaukee aldermanic district. This past year, districts had to be redrawn because of population shifts. Unfortunately for Donovan, most of his conservative base will be moved into another aldermanic district for next year's election. We'll see if he can appeal to a group of Milwaukeeans that he usually has alienated in the past.

You forgot to mention all work he has done in his district. For instance, Operation Impact, the neighborhood embasadors, graffiti task force. He works for everyone in his district, not just the people who live in Jackson Park.

If he's so conservative, how did he win in a poll sponsored by a liberal paper? I've been an Irish Catholic Democrat my whole life, and I think he's a great Alderman. The conservative talk show guys like that he speaks out against Barrett - he'd do that about any Mayor who lacked a backbone no matter what party the presiding Mayor was from. People like Ald. Donovan because he's honest, he's a fighter and he genuinely cares about this City.
