Kathleen Wiegner died in a swimming pool on June 16 in New Mexico. She was 73. She was born in Milwaukee in 1938 and was an Assistant Professor at UWM for several years in the late 1960s and early '70s. She wrote three books of poetry, Encounters (1972), Country Western Breakdown (1974) and Freeway Driving (1981). She was a business and technology writer for Forbes Magazine for 17 years. She was the editor of the Jemez Thunder newspaper since 1995.
